In 1972 Mr. Silvio D’Agnoluzzo arrived in Pará and set up a sawmill at km Zero, where the municipality of Dom Eliseu is located today. Ten years later, in 1982, he set up, together with Mr. Vitório Sufredini Neto, the Rio Concrem Laminator, which would start the Concrem Group. A year later, Mr. Silvano and Adriano D'Agnoluzzo joined the Group, starting Laminator Paragominas, in the municipality of Paragominas, also in the state of Pará. At the time, when the blade market was heated, people worked in two shifts, reaching a production of approximately 5,000 m³ of blades per month.
In 1989, Flora Industrial was built, the Group's first Plywood Factory in Paragominas. In the coming years, with the excellent results obtained, Rio Concrem Industrial was inaugurated in Dom Eliseu, also with a focus on plywood. Over time, productivity increased and the raw material from native forests resulting from a management project was no longer sufficient. Therefore, forestry planting was introduced.
In 1993, the Concrem Group began planting Paricá (Schizolobium amazonicum), a species native to the Amazon, in Dom Eliseu. The area, belonging to the company Rio Concrem, was 120 hectares. The following year, in the municipality of Paragominas, the planted area was 250 hectares. Since then, reforestation has become the group's biggest investment, starting to plant eucalyptus.
In the year 2000, Expama – Exportadora Paragominas de Madeira was born, aimed at the wooden flooring sector. The company produced wooden floors with high quality standards, being a reference in the field. Currently, Expama focuses its efforts on the production of frames, comprising more than 50 patterns in its portfolio and focusing on the American market.
In 2002, the trees already had the characteristics of traditional wood from the plywood industry, but the diameter was much smaller, from 12 to 30 cm, and they were not productive in the existing machines. The solution, then, would be to wait a few more years for the diameter to increase or for suitable machines to emerge. Faced with this need, Mr. Silvio D’Agnoluzzo, founder of the Group, developed a defoliating lathe that enabled the production of plywood veneers and started a new cycle in the region.
In 2010, a new phase began for the Concrem Group, with the production of MDF and the foundation of Flora MDF, where its production became raw material for the Group's companies.
In 2015, there was a unique factor for Flora, where it started the company's thermoelectric activities, which supplies all the factory's production processes.
In 2017, Flora expanded its production capacity, starting the new MDF production line, Dieffenbacher. It has the highest quality standard of German technology, being the main productive supplier of Flora today.
